Committed or Interested

Are you committed or interested in improving your health and life? Most people would say they would like to change or improve something about themselves. Are you committed to change or are you only interested?

I watched a video some time back about the difference in being interested or committed. Before watching that short video, I had never really given any thought about the difference. After I had watched it, I could recognize the different traits in some of my friends and associates. I asked several friends were they interested or committed and for most of them I had to explain the difference. They all stated they were committed but when I looked at the way things were going for them, a great many fell into the interested category. They always had an excuse why they had not met a deadline or they would blame someone else for their failure. Their actions showed they were lacking success in what they wanted to achieve.

So let’s look at what the difference between Interest and Commitment. The person who is interested in something is the person who may never achieve his/her goals. Yes, they want to achieve but will make every excuse in the book why it is not happening, why things are not working for them. They will not accept the fact they are the PROBLEM. They will blame people around and other circumstances and do not see that they have to change their way of thinking. Unfortunately, they start believing that the goals that they had set for themselves are well beyond their capabilities and knowledge and they accept their failure.

However, then we have the fully committed person. The committed person will do everything in their power and take any action to enable them to achieve their goals. The committed person wants to learn new skills and gain the necessary knowledge that they need, in order to succeed in what ever they attempt to do. That does not mean that they will not have some problems along the way but they will learn from their mistakes and keep moving forward. They will never accept “NO” as the answer. They will explore every avenue provided to allow themselves to move forward to their final goals.

So do you know what category you fall into?

If you want to succeed at anything in life you must have the right mindset. There are two factors here. You must have goals – that goal must have a plan and a time frame otherwise it is a dream and you must believe that you can achieve. Never let doubts creep in. YOU and only YOU can do this! Keep a positive attitude at all times. Don’t dwell in the past and blame someone for things that have gone wrong in your life. You cannot change the past because it is just that – it is the past and it is gone. You are now in the present and “the present” is the gift you give yourself. Move forward and achieve all the goals you set for yourself both now and in the future.

Here are 5 reasons why you will succeed.

1. Be persistent, focused and take action. Don’t make excuses why you cannot do something – just make a start and do it. If you need help always ask.

2. Always believe that you can achieve your dreams. Whatever you want to achieve will require a plan and it is advisable to write out you plan and always include a time frame. This is like a road map and at all times you can see where you are at on your journey to success. Without a time frame, you will never know where you are on your journey.

3. You must be consistent and persevere and do not allow other people to tell you that you will not succeed. Do not doubt your own abilities.

4. Be assured that you are going to be successful. You know what you want so just work towards it.

5. If you encounter any problems, find a solution and keep moving forward. Maintain a positive “can do” attitude if you encounter problems or challenges. There is never a problem that does not have a solution.

You can change your life forever and for the better when you change the way you think, this is the start when it comes to personal development. The following techniques describe easy ways to improve your personality, moral character, and way of living.

Once you have made the decision to improve or make changes in your life, commit to doing it. You can put all the thought into it and devise a perfect plan for life but if you never put it into action, then you will not see results. Fulfill your dreams and make what you desire a reality.

It is so important to know what you want out of life when you are involved in personal development. Long-term goals are very helpful, and they can have a huge impact on how you view the world.

If you feel that you are constantly unable to reach your goals, then you need to stop and reassess your goals and what you are doing to reach them. Look around online and try to find others that have had similar goals and see how they compare. You may find that you are setting the bar too high, forgetting a critical step, or not allocating enough of your resources to solving the problem.

Act with your core values in place

Most people have a system of beliefs and principles they subscribe to. Use your faith in these principles to drive your faith in yourself. This practice will encourage consistency, a valuable character trait to keep.

Your reaction to a situation can determine your level of stress. Stay calm and apply rational analysis to your situation. Even if mistakes have been made, you have the opportunity to find a fix or manage to live through it. Prioritize your achievements over your failures.

Most employers don’t care about your school or college, they care about the degree you earned and if you can complete the work. Finance jobs are one of the few exceptions, as your school will matter a great deal. Truthfully, it’s more crucial that you have obtained a degree and expanded your horizons.

Maximize work time. One simple solution is to go on more breaks while you work. It can seem like the opposite would be true, but taking mini breaks frequently will allow you to feel less bored, and get more done during the times you are working.

Someone might have told you that listening skills are just as essential as speaking skills. This is definitely true concerning personal development. You should not only listen closely to others, but to yourself as well. If you’re not able to hear yourself, you can’t possibly get a grasp on what is truly necessary for self improvement.

Conduct yourself with wisdom and modesty as you go through life. There are certain things in your life that you just can’t change. Learn to spot the things you can fix and just learn life lessons from the ones you can’t. You do have limitations; being modest helps you accept this fact. Your past experiences, plus a bit of wisdom, means a brighter future.

These suggestions may have helped you find a way to be a better all around you! By implementing the tips provided here you will be able to begin your journey of personal development, and make your life one of happiness and fulfillment.

Maintain Strong Bones

The strength of all of the bones in our body is governed by a few simple factors. We want to make sure that our bones are strong and we can even improve our bone strength.

Exercise

Exercise is essential to maintain good health and increase our bone density. There are two cells that alter the form and strength of our bones. These are the osteoclasts which thicken our bones and then we have the osteoblasts which have the reverse effect and will break the bones down. When we exercise, we can alter the activity of these cells. When you exercise, you are putting force on your bones and this in turn creates an electric current that moves along the bones. During exercise the osteoclasts are stimulated and the result is that this stimulation builds up the bones which are being stressed. When this is happening, the osteoblasts will absorb small amount of bone that is not required.

This action will help increase the strength of the bones.

Diet

Your bones come from a crystal formation called apatite. Large amounts of calcium and a small amount of phosphorus is needed by apatite. We have always been told we need calcium in our diet. Vitamin D (also known as the “sunshine” vitamin) helps the body absorb and use calcium. These days they now add a form of vitamin to some milk products.

Dairy products such as cheese and milk are a great source of calcium. If you tend not to use diary products, there are other ways of getting calcium. Calcium is found in many varieties of nuts, green leafy vegetables, legumes and grains. The nutrient found in milk and other dairy products stick to the calcium and you can lose it. Calcium in dairy products is harder to digest and absorb. That is why you should also get your calcium from the other sources we have already named.

So now you can see why you should maintain a good healthy diet and exercise on a regular basis. Your exercise regime should include both aerobic and flexibility components.

How to Give Your Brain More Power

We all have different IQs but there are ways to increase the capacity of your brain. If you believe that you can boost you brain power and experience better results – then there is help available for you.

These seven steps as shown here are going to boost your brain and keeping it working perfectly.

1. Have a regular exercise regime

It is not particular important what exercise you get involved with because something as simple as walking is fine. As you get fitter, after a period of time, increase the intensity of your workout.

When you work out, there is a release of neurochemicals. Endorphins are released and this makes us feel happier and if you feel happy this will create a more positive effect in the brain.

2. Take Diet Supplements.

We have often heard that natural supplements are good for our health and therefore good for our brain. Omega 3 comes to mind. These supplements are available from you local health store, your supermarket or on line.

3. The Beneficial Effect of Using Your Brain

Just as you exercise your body, you must exercise your brain. This can be done through a variety of different methods. It may be as easy as engaging in conversation with friends and family or you may even play some type of educational game. This could even be a game on line. Crossword puzzles make you think and learn. Any form of activity that stimulates the brain is good.

4. Playing Games

Find games that have a good effect on your brain where you are forced to think. There are several games online that could be what you want but avoid any that do not require much thought. There are also several gaming consoles that may suit you. Play games that increase your power of thought and in turn increase you brain function.

5. Choose an Educational Hobby.

Choose something that interests you where you can learn something. For example, you may want to join a class and learn how to write a book. You should be able to learn more on the subject than you already know. An educational hobby is designed to use parts of the brain that you do not normally use.

6. Enjoy Your Sleep.

Sleep is a time when the body and mind recharges itself. The amount of time we sleep should be between six to eight hours per night. If you like to take a power nap during the day, ensure that it is for a maximum of 20 minutes. This works well for some people because they feel regenerated and can tackle more in their day. Never deprive yourself of sleep – this is what allows the brain to function better.

7. Relaxation.

Always allow time for relaxation. Because we are often rushing to get things done, not only does our body get tired but also our mind. Many people find that even exercise can be a form of relaxation, in particular, yoga. Meditation is also a great way to relax the mind. Just allow yourself time to wipe all the worries out of your mind. Which form of relaxation you choose, will allow you to feel healthier and happier and increase your brain’s performance.

Health Activities That Will Help Reduce Stress

Some people who suffer from stress find it almost impossible to find an outlet to relieve it. The majority of stressed people do not realize that by doing some fun activities, they may be able to reduce their stress levels. Stress can be as a result of your career or a social or personal pressure.

Therapists all around the world agree that certain activities, when done on a regular basis, will help reduce the stress levels. These activities include games, sports and art. These activities can have a great affect on a stressed persons physical and behavioral problems.

Mind games

Stress as we all know, will affect the mental functions of the person. It is important to get people to focus on positive thoughts and not allow themselves to dwell on the negative ones. Mind games allow the person an alternative to reduce their stress levels. This is done by diverting your thought pattern to something more productive. Therapists encourage suffers of stress to tackle crosswords and sudoko to help cope with their stress.

If you are a member of a stress management clinic, these games will definitely be part of your treatment and you may also be introduced to Scrabble and Bridge. If you are not part of a clinic, and you have no plans of visiting one, you can incorporate these games into your daily activity because they will divert your mind some diversion from your problems.

Sports

Playing sports is a great way to relieve stress. The physical exercise that your body needs to balance biological and muscular functions can rejuvenate those muscles that are tight due to the effects of stress. People who play sports find that they can help alleviate some emotional problems like anxiety, depression, and anger.

Some people become involved in team sports and this also provides the socializing side as well as the exercise. People feel part of this group and this can have a positive effect.

Workout

Some people prefer to do individual exercises like joining a gym and working out. They may hire a personal trainer to help keep them focused and on track. Strenuous activities can develop your muscles and this allows your body’s to better cope with the stress. While you are exercising, the body will release chemicals and hormones that are beneficial to your physiological well-being.

Always be aware that if you are going to work out at the gym, make sure you consider your diet also.

Include fresh fruits and vegetables as these are necessary to improve your digestion and supplies the body with the required nutrients it needs. Red lean meat can give your muscles proteins that will strengthen muscle tissues for added flexibility.

Combining mental activities and physical exercise and having a balanced diet can help a person avoid the signs and symptoms of stress. People who do this will find their stress will vanish.

Can We Use Energy Medicine?

Do you know much about your body’s energy? Energy medicine could be the medicine of the future. As we have seen previously that the ancient forms of medicine that the body was more than just fresh and bones but there was also energy there as well.

We feed our bodies to increase our energy and this energy gives us power. This is the same when we fill our cars with fuel; we want the car to be able to move. Accordingly to quantum physics, the molecules that make up the human are a form of vibrating energy.

Every thing around us is composed of fields of vibrating energy. Different things vibrate at different frequencies. We have all heard of xrays, microwave, radio waves and television waves – all of these vibrate at different frequencies. We have all read about kirlian photography and have seen examples. This proves that objects emit light rays. Different colors are indicative of different things.

Now that we are aware of the body being energy, we also must accept that there are different forms of energy some being emotional energy, natural energy and spiritual energy. You will find that your energy levels are the highest when you feel the happy.

Traditional Chinese Medicine, Japanese Medicine and Ayurvedic Medicine all have one thing in common. They all refer to “life force.” In India it is Prana, In China it is Qi or Chi and in Japan it is Ki. The best way to describe it is a force that keeps us alive. We are all born with Chi and then some we get out of the foods we eat and the air we breathe.

Eastern religions teach that we have many spinning spheres in our body know as chakras. These Chakras spin at different frequencies and when each charka is spinning at the right frequency, we are balanced and in perfect health. With all the stresses of today’s society, if the charkas become unbalanced, illness will follow.

To fix this it may be necessary to go to a Reiki therapist or you can also fix it by visualizing and meditation on the charkas.

So you can see that now in the Western world we are adopting some of these energy methods to help heal ourselves.

 

Emotional Freedom Techniques(EFT) ®

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)® was and is an off shoot of Thought Field Therapy®. It was after Gary Craig trained with Dr. Roger Callaghan, a psychologist, in 1991 that EFT was born. Dr Callaghan had studied acupuncture and kinesiology. Gary was an engineer and was always interested in personal development and self improvement.

Gary started presenting seminars and offering “personal performance coaching.”

After Gary took training in Thought Field Therapy he began using this method on his clients. Over the next five years Gary was trying to simplify the tapping method.

Gary developed and refined the technique over the next five years. Gary released his Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) course in 1995.

It is used to treat the same problems or conditions as TFT such as phobias and fear, weight lose, stopping smoking and many more.

There have been several other therapists who also trained with Dr Callaghan that developed a different style but Gary Craig is the best known. Gary’s method is very simple and is very effective. There is documentary evidence that the success rate is over 80%.

Thought Field Therapy (TFT) ®

Thought Field Therapy (TFT) ® was discovered by Dr Roger Callaghan over 30 years ago when he was treating a woman who had a phobia about water.

What the doctor discovered that by using the meridian system of the body, as used in Chinese Traditional medicine, he was actually able to improve people who suffered negative emotions or fears within a very short period of time. As he continued to improve on the method he was using, he found that when using a sequential tapping on the face and the body, he could treat a lot of problems that sometimes seem to engulf people in their everyday life. Sometimes it can be as easy as one treatment however,some people need continued therapy but are eventually cured.

When other therapies were not working, he found that he could often help people lose weight, give up smoking, with phobias, trauma relief, fear of flying, fear of public speaking and so much more.

The tapping is at very specific places and I thought this video demonstration explains it very well. You will be able to understand how you can apply the Thought Field Therapy algorithm or the tapping sequences to improve your own life in many ways. Reiki

Reiki works on a subtle level where, when the practitioner lays their hands on or slightly above their client, this will open up channels of healing or the various charkas and this healing travels throughout the body’s energy fields. This is a similar therapy to Pranic Healing. Both of these forms of healing use Universal energy. This again is another use of a powerful breathing system.

Reiki is made up of two Japanese words –Rei which can be translated as “the Wisdom of God or the Higher Power” and Ki which means “Life Force Energy”

Reiki is a natural energy therapy that was developed and practiced by the Tibetan Monks over 2500 years ago. What is remarkable about Reiki is that it can be passed on to anyone who wants to learn it. It is thought of as a practice that is used for healing the body but it also heals the mind and spirit.

The type of Reiki I have studied is the Usui System of Natural Healing. This type of Reiki was developed in the mid 1800 by Mikao Usui who was a Christian Minister and also the principal of the Doshisha University in Kyoto, Japan. His students had questioned him about the methods that Jesus had used for healing, so he embarked on a ten year quest to find out and learn the skills. Usui turned to Buddhism to help him. He was informed by the Buddhist monks that this teaching had been lost but still he joined the Buddhist monks to discover the Buddhist Teachings – the Path to Enlightenment.

Still not able to get all answers, he traveled to the United States and obtain a degree of Theology from the University of Chicago Divinity School. He returned to Japan, still without the answers. He joined a Zen Monastery and decided to fast and meditate for twenty one days. On the twentieth night, all was revealed to him in a dream. From that day on, he was able to heal and his healings were known as “Miracles.”

Reiki is now being used with main stream medicine and the results are astounding. Watch this video to see what is happening.

Can We Get Health Through Healing Hands?

At Health through Healing Hands, we never advocate that people abandon any medical treatment they are receiving. We believe that alternative therapies and other forms of healing may be helpful to you. Are you aware of the power of your own mind? You may be surprised to realize that we are all capable and have the capacity to be healers.  There are a variety of ways to achieve spiritual and holistic healing and here are just some of the ways – Meditation and Visualization, Reiki, Pranic Healing but it is not important what we call it, in our society, as long as it achieves a healing result. Some practitioners prefer not to use the word spiritual while others are happy to be known as a spiritual healer.

We are all given this gift to heal but not all of us choose to use it or know that we are capable to heal ourselves and others. We also all have physic potential that we can develop to enrich our lives and help promote health and happiness. There are no special requirements to learn Reiki or Pranic Healing – only the desire to learn and heal. Sometimes practitioners of these therapies are known as spiritual healers.

In Western medicine when we are ill, the illness is looked at in isolation and medicine is prescribed. Even the medical profession in the Western world must acknowledge that the original medicinal herbal mixtures came from nature’s gardens and we all know that God created nature. Medicines give a boost to our bodies for healing to begin. The medicine itself has no ultimate healing power – we have that healing power through our belief system.

In some countries, healing has been frowned on for centuries, every deemed witchcraft or quackery, but in 1956 the British Medical Association produced a report “Divine Healing and Co-operation between Doctors and Clergy.” The report stated quite clearly that “through spiritual healing, recoveries take place that cannot be explained by medical science.”

This was a great leap forward for the healer – be it spiritual healing or alternative therapies. They were formally recognized.

What happens when a spiritual healing takes place? In healing there is a conscious shift in the mind, allowing the body to heal. For the healing to occur, in most cases, the patient must want the improvement and have the belief that the healing is happening. It may be instantaneous or it can take place over a longer period of time. Our Inner-Spirit guides us during these healing sessions. God is infinite and all things are possible.

In the future, doctor’s procedures will be much different from the way they are now. Some in the medical profession are now embracing alternative therapies. Acupuncture is one of the best examples of this. Pranic Healing has been introduced into some hospitals. Some oncologists are encouraging patients to learn and practice meditation. They are realizing that most drugs only treat the symptoms, they rarely cure and patients can have harsh side effects or even dependency. Some of these therapies will help the mind, body and spirit attain peace and harmony. When we attain this peace our thoughts are uplifting and positive and we are less stressed and allow any healing to take place.
