The yogis of India developed a science around the breath and they called it pranayama. Prana is the life force which controls and balances our body. Today, this has been modified by Grand Master Choa Kok Sui, (1987) and brought to the Western world and he has recalled it “Pranic Healing” or “External Medical Chi Kung.” Chi Kung is an invaluable component of Traditional Chinese medicine. The important features of Chi Kung are relaxation, quietness, and unity of breath and mind.

In Choa Kok Sui method of healing, the practitioner works with the aura or energy levels of the body and scans the client’s body from the head down to the toes feeling the energy levels. The body is surrounded by two auras – one approximately two to three feet from the body (known as the health rays) and the second aura follows the contours of the body at a very close range (known as the health aura). If there is disruption or entanglement in these health rays and health auras, healing must be given. These invisible energy fields or the bioplasmic body can be viewed using Kirlian and Aura photography.

It has been observed that if when using Kirilian photography, that diseases first manifests on the bioplasmic body before it appears on the visible physical body. This therapy activities the Charkas and brings the body back to balance thus promoting peace and health within. The healer uses their hands in a sweeping motion around the body feeling the energy.

Choa Kok Sui died in 2007 but his mehtods are still taught widely around the world.

Some therapists and medical practitioners are only too aware that healing is both a mental and physical proposition.

Many people are suffering from mental trauma that may be many years in the making and they sometimes find it hard to face day to day events. Sometimes these traumas relate to their childhood. Parents, teachers and other people of influence in their young lives are often times the ones responsible for the problems.

If children that are continuously told they are “stupid” or “horrible” or are blamed for things they did not do, they often carry these negative thoughts and emotions for the rest of their lives. When they try something and they do not succeed on the first try – they then believe that they are stupid and that is the reason they failed. If a child is not given praise and love they will carry a mental scar for the rest of their life.

It is well known that children, who as infants are unattached and anxiously unattached, can grow up to exhibit a range of disorders such as having difficulty with relationships. (An anxiously unattached infant is a child that is not consistently given love and responded to at all times by parents or caregivers. They become anxious and often have trust issues because they feel betrayed and bury their hurt and anger.) At the worst end of the scale, are those who display a sociopathic criminal behaviour. A lot of these children, who have been exposed to a negative up bringing, often turn to crime. They can join a “street gang” believing that this is their new family and the other members are supportive of them.

How do we treat these people now that they have reached adulthood but still bearing the scars of this mental trauma and anguish? There are several therapies but one that has been proven to work is a regression type therapy. Some people are able to do this through meditation by themselves while others will need the help of a trained professional. During the meditation, they image themselves back at the age where these problems first arose. They then mentally talk to the people who have caused the trauma and discuss it with them and explain how they were hurt by these people. It may take some time but all of the negative feelings they are still feeling must be spoken about. The secret to success here is they have to forgive the person who inflicted this pain. They must tell them they have forgiven them and then they will find later that it is part of their lives they can think about and their pain has disappeared.
